Jade has a super cool job working at Pinterest and so was naturally brimming with amazing ideas for her and Tom’s special day! They live together in California and fell in love with Brympton after discovering it on RMW, as they felt it was exceptionally beautiful and provided the ‘Englishness’ that Jade so wanted for the wedding after being away from home. The added benefit was that they could have 60 guests stay on the estate, which was especially nice for those that flew in from the US, the Netherlands and Turkey. The American guests loved the history of the house and referred to it as a castle!

Jade and Thomas’ wedding was absolutely divine and the memories were captured perfectly by Modern Vintage Weddings, we love David Wickham’s unique approach and style; https://www.modernvintageweddings.com/

They had a picturesque outdoor ceremony facing the lake with our house nestled in the background. The bride elegantly wore Inbal Dror and Valentino Rock Stud Wedding Shoes and the Groom a handsome black tux by Alexander McQueen. The four Bridesmaids looked graceful in their floor-length pale pink dresses by Maids to Measure and the three Groomsmen smart in black tie.

The couple added their own special touch to things, from their delicate letterpress invitations with an illustrated timeline of where Jade and Thomas met (Bangkok), got engaged (Napa Valley) and would get married (Somerset), to their own wine labels on bottles of prosecco that they gave as wedding favours. They also used a pair of traditional wooden skis as their guest book, which they hope to hang in their house one day.

They opted for a distinctively British afternoon tea in the Great Hall on the day before their wedding followed by a spot of cricket outside on the lawn. They kept the cricket theme going into the evening with cricket menus and name cards for a formal pre-wedding supper in the candle-lit State Dining Room and chose to have a seasonal soup followed by slow roasted duck and treacle tart for pudding.

The ceremony was made extra special by having a close friend officiate and writing their own ceremony and vows. Their readings were “I Do, I Will, I Have” by Ogden Nash (edited slightly to modernise) and a Lovely Love Story by Edward Monkton.

They were served mouth-watering canapes, including mini roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, as a special nod to Jade’s home county followed by a truly scrumptious wedding breakfast of New York strip steak strips and chips with Béarnaise. Evening guests enjoyed an ever-popular hog roast, outside the stables where the evening reception was held.
